The Executive Director (ED) of Curriculum Design and Improvement reports to the Chief Academic Officer and is part of the Curriculum and Instruction Senior Leadership Team. As the founding leader of a new, cross-disciplinary department in the division of Curriculum & Instruction, the ED of Curriculum Design will play a key role in supporting SFUSD to achieve Vision 2025, the district’s compelling vision for learning and teaching in the 21st century; as well as Transform Learning. Transform Lives, the district’s current three-year strategic plan. In this position, you will be responsible for leading SFUSD’s overall strategy for curriculum design, as well as the development and implementation of specific subject-area and cross-disciplinary curricula. You will play a leading role in the design of innovative curriculum that supports the ongoing transition of learning and teaching practices so that all students will demonstrate proficiency in the Common Core State Standards in Language Arts and Mathematics, the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), California’s English Language Development(ELD) Standards; the CA History/Social Studies Framework.
